The upcoming mid-size performance bike from Bajaj has been the talk of the town recently. It was earlier known as the CS400 but the name ‘Kratos’ popped out a few months back. And now, as per reports, it will be called the ‘Dominar’. Name aside, Bajaj has officially revealed that the bike will be launched in mid December.
UPDATED: Deliveries of the bike have now started (opens in new window)
Production of the Dominar 400 has started at Bajaj’s manufacturing facility. The first batch is being rolled out by an all-women assembly line at the Chakan plant. The bike will be priced upwards of Rs 1.5 lakh but we can expect a shocker as Bajaj is known to deliver value for money products.
The Dominar will come with the same 373.27cc single cylinder engine that is seen the Duke 390 / RC 390. As per speculations, the bike will put out about 34-36 bhp of power, enough to give it a sub 6 second timing for the 0-100km/h run along with a top whack of over 175km/h comfortably. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and ABS will be offered as optional.
Not much is known about the bike as of now. That said, the design is the highlight and the CS400 / Kratos / Dominar definitely looks stunning. It will also come with MRF spec tyres, LED headlamp, digital console and a very comfortable riding posture.
The Indian two-wheeler industry will witness slew of launches in the next one year. This also includes Yamaha’s all-new 200-250cc naked bike that was snapped by us recently – click to see! In the meantime, here is how the Dominar looks in various colors (rendering, not the final design)
