Lexus is officially set to enter the Indian luxury car market. The brand is owned by Toyota and make some of the most finest SUVs, sedans and crossovers in the world. Their first offering seems to be this, the RX 450h Crossover which will carry a price tag of about a crore. This particular model was snapped by Ranojoy in Delhi recently.
The RX 450h will be a hybrid crossover. It comes powered by a 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 hybrid engine with 308 bhp of power on tap. Being a hybrid, it will enjoy certain tax benefits in some of the states in India. An interesting fact is that Lexus offers a warranty of upto 8 years / 1,60,000km on key hybrid components internationally. If they do so in India, it will certainly add to the peace of mind factor.
The first two showrooms up North are set to open up at 22A, Janpath, New Delhi and The Oberoi hotel, Gurgaon. Customer drives are currently going on for selected individuals with a probable launch in the next one month or so. Pricing is expected to be around a crore which will make this an exclusive purchase. Deliveries will start in 2017.
