MapmyIndia Rover Bike (Product)

Car tracking devices are fast catching up with consumers today but this is the first time we are seeing a company come up with tracking device for two-wheelers. Launched by MapMyIndia, its called the “Rover Bike Tracker” and is priced at Rs 3990. This includes the device and SIM charges. Service for the device can be bought at Rs. 2400 for an year. While SMSes are chargeable under a different plan, Email alerts are bundles free with the device.

Looks interesting? Let’s have a look at some of its features:

  • Real-time GPS based motorycle & scooter tracking
  • Integrated with mobile apps – Free Android, iOS, Windows
  • Safety and security alerts – Over-speeding, geo-fence breach, idling etc.
  • Bike maintenance & compliance alerts – Servicing, Pollution, Insurance etc.
  • Location sharing; history & animated play of previous rides

MapMyIndia says the Rover offers a connected biking experience. Installation is easy and you can keep an eye on the movement of your bike from anywhere in the world, down to building-level detail along with direction as well as speed. The security system ensures safety, security, compliance and maintenance of your bike too. Further, alerts and information related to ignition on/off, over-speeding, idling, breach of geo-fence (leaving from or arriving at a particular location), servicing, pollution or insurance expiry due etc. are relayed to users via the mobile app, emails and SMSes.

Another feature we like is that an owner can store important documents electronically in their app. This includes stuff like Driving License, Registration Certificate, Insurance Policy and Pollution Certificate etc. additionally. Email Alerts are bundles free with the device. The product is available online
