Maruti Suzuki has silently added more safety features to the base and mid spec versions of the Swift hatchback. A driver side airbag will now be standard across the range. The Delhi edition of Hindustan Times carried an advert about the same.
Maruti is calling this the Swift DLX version and it will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Maruti had launched the same version earlier in July 2016 but with different features. Prices for the DLX version start at Rs 4.8 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Maruti has yet to update their website with this new model pricing.
Mechanically there is no difference in the Swift DLX. The car is among the top 5 selling models in India and will be replaced with the all-new next generation Swift later year or early next year. The advert also states that Swift DLX can be had with additional features like audio system with Bluetooth, central locking and four power windows.
Maruti recently launched the Ignis hatchback – this has garnered a lot of attention among buyers and will be sold through Nexa dealerships only.
