Hyundai’s best seller in India and the country’s fifth largest selling car is due for a major face-lift. The car is currently undergoing testing as visible in these images shot by Manoj Prabakaran on the Chennai – Bangalore highway, minutes away from Hyundai’s main plant. Changes in the Grand i10 will also reflect in the Xcent sedan.
While no official details are out, we can safely say that the new Grand i10 will get a revised front end.
This includes new bumper and possibly a slimmer logo grille. Changes are also expected at the back with a new bumper and tail lights. We can also expect the top spec version to come with a touch screen infotainment system. The new model will carry forward the spacious and practical interiors unchanged.
Mechanically, we don’t see Hyundai changing the set-up at all. This means you will continue to get the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.1-litre diesel units. The former will also be available with an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine options are smooth operators and the Grand i10 has been received very well in India. Expect the new version to go on sale later this year followed by the updated Xcent too.
